HOW TO PROPAGATE FEAR THROUGH DISINFORMATION

November 20, 2009

Are you a truthseeker?

I admit that I go to all news sources to find answers to the questions in my mind and to understand the world around me.  However, when going to alternative news, make sure you don’t have a “knee jerk” reaction to what you read.  Go to the source.  Both mainstream and alternative news is BIASED.  One side can report something a certain way and another the same story with a different twist.

People who really love truth, however, don’t settle for the first article they read.  They go to the original source and compare article to article and then analyze the information for themselves.  Alternative news especially, can be extremely biased and extremely dangerous at times.   However, that being said, they are also necessary to fill in gaps where mainstream media falls short.  Since mainstream news is owned and operated by a select few with their own agenda, there seems to be a lot of propaganda.  Get the facts.

I found the following alternative news interesting today.  A recent article by Jurriaan Maessen for Infowars.com  is typical of a disinformation tactic.  Even if the article was partially true, the part that was left out would have taken the edge off the conspiracy view.

Below are the actual paragraphs from the original E.U. document.  The bolded blue type is what Ms. Maessen’s article left out.  Read it twice.  Bypass the blue the first time and then read it in its entirety.  No matter what you might believe about the E.U. (Of course they are playing a role in the NWO)  can you see how reading it in context changes your perception of this one article?

“The recent events should generate the required lucidity to undertake for the 30 years to come a collective and reasonable management and allocation of natural resourcesThey should call for a drastic change in our way of living (which is different from living standards). They should lead to the mutualisation of the planet resources with sound global governance; these resources should not be appropriated nor profit a minority of people, but be managed for the benefit of the whole of humankind.  Otherwise, there is a significant risk that humanity will fulfil Malthus’ theories, where “natural” adjustment (in form of famine, disease, epidemic, natural catastrophes, war…) would put back the world population in line with the available resources.”

“We should not let any longer “laissez-faire” economic philosophy spill over and contain ambitious global policies.  The survival of a great part of humankind is at stake.  Do we need to wait for the date when the maximum number of humans that the planet can bear will be reached?  Or can we truly start planning with the physical and geographical constraints of our planet, while respecting the men and women who live on it?”

Can you see how omitting the bold print can put a completely different slant on things?  There are enough facts that could cause concern about the policies of the E.U. without having to slice and dice their documents.  We don’t need to manipulate it to make a point…or do we?

There are many things happening in our world that we can say are disturbing.  I believe our Constitution has taken a beating; that we should not have bailed out the bankers;  that the H1N1 flu pandemic is a hoax; and that SOMEONE, those who have much to gain, could care less about the effects of dangerous vaccines they are trying to push on the world.  I support Jane Bergermeister’s attempt to sue the pharmaceutical companies and Obama; from the facts presented, 9/11 was an inside job.

But the point is – look for truth.  Don’t take the first op-ed you see and base your opinions on that.  Don’t believe everything you hear.  News is biased.  Do the research.  Be prepared.  Don’t panic.  Learn to think for yourself!  It doesn’t help the “truth movement” to find that what they report is not truth at all, but “convenient editing” to support their position.  I can only call that propaganda or disinformation.  Both sides do it, of course, so what can we rely on?

There is truth in the world, Christian, but what can we trust but God’s Word?  Whatever may come, you have a strong deliverer.  Stengthen yourself in Him and learn to block out the noise of those who have no faith.

“There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. “Then they will see THE SON OF MAN COMING IN A CLOUD with power and great glory. “But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” (Luke 21:25-28 NASB)

“Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap; for it will come upon all those who dwell on the face of all the earth. “But keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:34-36 NASB)

God bless you.

P.S.  I want to say that over the years, Infowars has given me a lot to think about and I agree with much of it, but not all.  However, there are times like today when I just have to shake my head in bewilderment, although I don’t think anyone should throw the baby out with the bath water.  Pursue truth in all things.
